Born in 1983 in Nichinan City, Miyazaki Prefecture, Japan, Katsuyuki Aratake began his journey as a painter at the age of 24. In pursuit of artistic development, he traveled to Spain in 2009 to study at Círculo de Bellas Artes and returned again in 2011 for further training. He also studied painting at the SanDaVinci Art School in Osaka and exhibited in group shows at STUDIO Q2 in Osaka and Kobe during the same year.
In 2011, he received the Kobe Shimbun Award at the Shinseiki (New Century) Exhibition. His work gained international recognition when it was recommended at the 27th Paris International Salon (2012), and selected for both the 14th Japan-France Contemporary Art Exhibition and the 45th Spain Art Prize Exhibition hosted by the European Art Club in 2013.
He held her first solo exhibition in 2022 at Gallery Ka Mizuki in Nichinan City, Miyazaki. In 2023, he collaborated with artist Kou Kakihara at Kusunamiki Gallery for the exhibition “E=art².”
His recent achievements include participating in the 15th Anniversary Monaco-Japan Arts Festival (2024), the “Inner World” exhibition at Kujaku Gallery in Tokyo, and the 29th OASIS2024 Art Fair. He was also named a member of the International Peace Art Society in 2024.
In 2025, he exhibited at the 33rd International Peace Art Exhibition held at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris and Tokyo. That same year, he was awarded Second Runner-Up in the ART INCUBATION SERIES 15, Juried Open Call, Stepping Into a World V curated by Motoichi Adachi and Kyoko Sato, in New York.
With a practice rooted in both Japanese and European influences, his work reflects an inner exploration of emotion, identity, and universal peace.
